The Role: We are seeking an intermediate to senior accountant who is motivated, an excellent communicator, and driven to excel in their career. This is a permanent full-time position. You will be familiar with all aspects of business services including bookkeeping and payroll processes, the preparation of financial statements and tax returns and business advisory. We are looking for team members who can take initiative, work independently as well as within a team and navigate through challenges that come their way. You will work closely with directors of the company and be a trusted partner to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing client relationships with a diverse group of clients

  • Prepare and review financial statements, tax returns, and other tax compliance lodgements.

  • Preparation of management financial statements, cashflows/budgets, and other reports and analysis.

  • Assist business clients with a vast array of matters including bookkeeping and payroll related matters, compliance and tax advisory.

  • Help develop internal business improvement projects to deliver efficiencies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field

  • CA qualified or near completion

  • 2+ years of experience in a similar role within professional practice

  • Excellent Xero (and its ecosystem of applications) and Excel skills

  • Strong technical tax proficiency with demonstrated work experience in tax and compliance and management accounting.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
